User pruning; new users

#1 Postby Rocke_T_Sinetist » Mon Sep 19, 2011 10:36 pm

Whenever the number of registered users with zero posts reaches 100, they are pruned/eliminated from the database. This is because almost all registrations without posts are spammers whose content has been deleted or who failed the initial login verification.

All 'real' users registering should at least say 'hi' so the pruning does not delete your account.

The great news is that we are dealing with day trading "penny" stocks, not trading hundreds of shares of Microsoft or Exxon

Welcome and thanks for reading. I don't want to prune legit users who just haven't gotten around to telling their story yet.

And have I got STORIES. :) On another forum , the transcripts of the conversations with Dell Tech Central in Hyderabad India were posted. Apparently, I stepped on some nerves , since all of those posts mysteriously vanished.
Will the same thing happen here? If I do say so myself, it's very entertaining reading. <VBG>

There are no Dell nerves here. I've got stories from internally reviewing support cases.

However we must respect legalities. Do not post real names, employee or case numbers, svc tags. IOW, no identifying material. We used to allow that back when a lot of users were employees. But it leads to work for me when those people google themselves here and want their names removed.

I will perform the needed redacting. Those that have been through the mill will recognize the tales are genuine. :)

Hello, I found the site doing research on Dell lawsuits. I'm not scared off by their arbitration rules and release of liability mumbo-jumbo. I plan on using those extended pages rejecting liability as evidence. Dell has knowingly sold defective products on scale in The millions. Under those terms they have no right or reason for their liability disclaimer to have any validity. wish me luck.

When I run out of things to do, I will relate my adventures in replacing the MoBo in my wife's Dell XPS L702, after a BIOS update bricked it. :(
