Re: Drug testing?

Let's talk about drugs. Can I get some? Mild skunk if there's a choice. Michoacan, Acapulco Gold, or that stuff that's tied to a stick. Just for medicinal purposes y'understand. Or by local statute, religious porpoises. Nunna them farmy-sooticles. Living in a state with MMJ, I can tell you that if ...

Re: First experience with Dell.

If you're lucky, the hinge screws just need tightened down. A #0 phillips head screwdriver is all you need for that.

If you're unlucky, the plastic where the screws screw into is busted, and will need replaced. It was pretty common with those E1505s.

You'd be surprised how much information is available about a person, with targetted searching, and a Lexis Nexis subscription.

Re: Inspiron 3558 Windows 7

Windows 10 doesn't generally get a COA sticker on the machine - at least it didn't back when i was repairing them. Its normally on a little piece of paper that's included in the bundle with the owner's manual that nobody ever looks at, as well as embedded into the system board of the machine.

Mod Note Names were redacted due to report by person referenced in this post. Since IHateDell.Net has no interest in getting involved in anything remotely resembling legal litigation, the names were removed.

It wasn't letting me log in at all... kept giving me PHP errors. At any rate, we're up to the most current version now of the board software.

Forum fixed!

OK, so for whatever reason, the board broke. In September.

I finally got ahold of the owner of the site, and fixed it.

There's probably gonna be some glitches until I get things back to normal.. please bear with. If you notice anything, please stick it in this thread.

Re: Interest in the I Hate Dell community

I wouldn't shut this off, if only for the archival records of things that have happened in the past.

Really, the only danger would be if the owner of the place either dropped the domain name registration, or their hosting package.

Re: own vehicles.

without getting the beancounters on board from all the different companies, the only thing "hashing out" the problems would do would give the companies a good reason to get rid of those "at will" employees.

Generally, yes.. if you get brief lights after hitting the power button, then it powers off completely, that's either a) the ac adapter is no longer providing charge to the battery (and hasn't been), so your battery is dead and it can't power on, or b) the motherboard needs replaced.

Re: Precision Zero

If the battery's never been replaced on a M90, given the age of the machine (it was released in 2006, so is at least 8 years old, probably closer to 9 years old), it probably just has gone bad. Batteries only can with stand 500-700 'charge cycles', or roughly about 2 years, with some other factors i...

Re: Defective Keyboard

Honestly, after 4 keyboards, i'd probably be saying that you're doing something wrong, rather than the keyboard being faulty. They send the same keyboard that's came with that desktop with nearly every single computer that they've sold in the last year, and this is the first i've heard of it. You ma...

Re: Inspiron 2350 missing SSD - corrupted partitions

From a repair perspective, it's really not that difficult to repair the partitions on the hard drive.

They can even send you a USB key with it - a restore to factory configuration would put everything back where it was.

Re: Alienware computer

Supposedly, anything that worked with the XB360 controller should work with the XBOne controller.

Again, it does have to be hardwired in, you can't use it wirelessly (yet).
