I got the Sunday paper last week in there was a flyer for DELL I called them they claimed the Ad did not exist. I was about to Hang up and they talked me into ordering a computer that was comparable. The guy from DELL read off the specifications to me I looked up all the parts online it seemed ok. (Watch out for the term integrated with DELL) The computer was supposed to have an ATI Radion card (dual digital monitor board) the computer arrived with an integrated board with one (1) HDMI port. Not only did the computer come without the Digital port they shipped an Analog Monitor. I have come to the conclusion that nobody a DELL knows what Digital is. So I called them and the guy says this is what I ordered. I disagreed with them and after a lengthy conversation he says he will fix the problem by refunding me $25.00. You may find this hard to believe but I was very Irritated with them. When I told them about the 1 HDMI he said I could order an adapter to deal with the Monitor issue. I told him I should not have to alter a brand new computer with adapters. I finally told them to take it back and they E-Mailed me return tags and we took it to UPS. Save your self some trouble do not Buy a DELL _________________ lopie |

It's a foregone conclusion that DHell reps lie to customers. In fact, they lie to each other, so lying to customers isn't that much of a stretch. When I worked for DHell, nobody wanted to sell the systems featured in the ads because if they weren't able to upsell the customer, they took it in the shorts on those systems. DHell made it so that each time a rep sold one of those systems, the reps actually lost money on their commission checks. Maybe that explains why you were told that the configuration didn't exist. DHell was willing to go so far as to screw their employees just to get a sale, and I have no reason to believe that has changed.
The screwing doesn't stop there. If you were to have kept the system, you would have found out what the DHell phone shuffle really was. Sooner or later you would have had to call tech support and DHell makes it so that techs don't want to fix problems. If DHell thinks they have made too many repair dispatches, then they get canned, and the tech support reps know that. So the customers get shuffled from rep to rep and department to department, until the customer gives up and deals with the situation themselves. Some get lucky and get their issues fixed, and some resort to legal or consumer advocacy solutions, but a lot of folks just give up.
Anyhow, several state Attorneys General have won lawsuits against DHell, including the state of New York, for the tactics mentioned above. That should tell you something right there. Unfortunately, DHell has decided that it's cheaper for them to face lawsuits than to do business honourably. _________________ Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia. |

From Microsoft to Dell and S & L scams to IRS criminals, it seems that no-one is out of the scrutiny of the SEC. An agency built by the US government to monitor financial scams and violations, the SEC has recouped billions of dollars in the past 10 years from unethical business leaders in technology and banking using strong arm tactics.
Dell Computer executive CEO Michael Dell has been caught with his hands in the cookie jar and now is predicted to pay at least 100 million dollars. Michael Dell took a two-fisted punch from the Securities and Exchange Commission Thursday: One popped him with charges for failure to disclose material information to investors and the other tagged him with a $4 million settlement fine (the good news for Dell is that the SEC's actions didn't result in a prison sentence). His company, Dell (DELL) got hit even harder, agreeing to pay $100 million to settle both failure to disclose charges, as well as charges of accounting fraud in a case involving its relationship with chip giant Intel.

Who got screwed by Dell Management taking kickbacks from Intel?
The DELL shareholders.
Who made money off the kickbacks
Dell Management
Who is paying the fine
$100mil - DELL shareholders
$4mil - Dell Management
Every $ fraudulently made by Dell Execs during the kickbacks should be refunded. Otherwise they should be held criminally liable. |
