I'm sure my service experience is pretty common around Dell, but I'm still hoping to have my voice heard in whatever way possible. I was wondering if people here could suggest the best way for me to reach people who might actually listen to my complaint.
Basically, I was promised a one-week turnaround time for a very simple repair. Because of Dell’s lousy service, the service request took almost a month to complete despite being promised a one-week turnaround time, my brother and myself spent a combined 5+ hours on the phone, and we ended up spending about $90 to ship the box to your repair facilities because neither FedEx nor Dell was flexible enough to allow for rapid delivery (we would be happy to provide the receipt to you as proof). Had I not paid that $90 shipping fee, we would have waited another two weeks to get my already delayed repairs processed. That's a pretty brief summary of the problem, but the full depth of the experience was an absolute nightmare and it included several broken promises..
I'm hoping to recover that $90, a small price to pay for a very loyal customer. I know it's a longshot, but like many people on this forum, I am ready to throw away a 10-year loyal relationship if I don't feel Dell has taken my claim seriously. Any suggestions? |

Your loyalty was based on what Dell USED to be. They know that. They've been running on reputational inertia now for 8 years, and run it into the ground.
Today, once they've screwed you, you stay screwed unless your issue falls into the purview of Better Business Bureau, your creditcard company, or your state's attorney general. _________________ Rocke T Sinetist

You would have better luck handing your 90 bucks to a bum on the corner and hoping he pays you back. Once Dhell has your money you will not get it back without one hell of a fight. Even if your completely in the right. _________________ Former employee of Dell and can say that they

I'm a bit nervous about saying this ..... and I hate sounding negative but I think you may have to take the $90 as a loss or try small claims court? I've lost all respect for Dell and after what they did to me I really believe they will come up with some lame excuse to not refund your money. I lodged a complaint with BBB and my states attorney general and it got me nowhere. Good luck.

| It's unethical to promise any kind of turnaround time on a repair... there are always way too many mitigating circumstances to give an accurate date. Dell's policy is no one promises a date on anything.... |

A Dell promise plus a dollar will get you a free coffee refill at Denny's. By now, everyone should know not to believe ANYthing Dell says. _________________ Rocke T Sinetist
