Josephine Tan, former head of Hewlett Packard's (HP) Product Development Center (PDC) in Taiwan, has joined Dell as managing director of its Taiwan Design Center (TDC), Frank Wu, country manager of Dell Taiwan, confirmed yesterday.
Tan left HP in March and started working for Dell on April 18, Wu said, adding that the original TDC managing director, Kefetew Selassie, will return to the United States for another product development position.
HP has seen quite a few of its executives leave for Dell in recent months, the most notable being Alex Gruzen, who is now senior vice president of Dell’s Product Group. Gruzen was senior vice president and general manager for HP’s Mobile Computing Global Business Unit before joining Dell in August 2004.
Tan worked under Gruzen at Compaq before HP took over the company.
